Cookie & Analytics Notice

Cookies or local storage that are strictly necessary for account login, cart, checkout, security, fraud prevention and core marketplace functionality may be used where needed to provide the service. These should be limited to what is necessary and documented during development.

NYCC plans to use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use the website, which pages and catalogue areas are useful, and where the experience can be improved. NYCC is not currently planning Meta Pixel or Google Ads tracking. Analytics should be configured with privacy-conscious settings and should not be activated before any required consent choice is available.

Depending on the final Google Analytics configuration, analytics may receive information such as device and browser type, approximate location, referral source, pages viewed, events or interactions, session information and identifiers generated by the analytics service. NYCC should avoid intentionally sending names, email addresses, checkout fields or other direct account information to analytics.

Where consent is required for non-essential analytics cookies or similar technologies, visitors should be able to make a meaningful choice before those technologies are activated. Cookie settings should allow visitors to review or change their analytics preference later without affecting essential marketplace functionality.

Google Analytics is a third-party service and may process information outside Nunavut or Canada depending on the final configuration. Before launch, NYCC should document the selected Google Analytics account/settings, data-sharing controls, processing locations and any applicable contractual terms in the Privacy Policy.

Analytics retention should be set to the shortest period reasonably needed for NYCC’s stated purposes and documented before launch. Visitors may also use browser controls to delete or block cookies, although blocking essential cookies may affect account, cart or checkout functionality.
